1017 GT THE GENTLEMEN'S RACE The award-winning Gentlemen ́s racer 1017 GT is the heart of the Frauscher brand and offers everything you need for a full day of fun on the water: style, performance, durability and ease of use. Fast, stable, responsive, the Frauscher 1017 GT is a boat that manages to combine retro lines with a contemporary and very elegant design, not surprisingly the shipyard defines it as a "gentlemen racer". The hull is double step and has a very deep V that reaches the stern with a dead rise of 23 °, data that promise good seaworthiness. The blanket is a small masterpiece of design and functionality. Starting from the stern bridge a comfortable teak walkway allows us to cross the two aft sundecks without balancing and then easily reach the cockpit. Here we find two large seats and the two armchairs reserved for the pilot and his second, are all comfortable and, above all, safe, as is appropriate for a boat that passes 50 knots. From the windshield to the bow an expanse of fine teak, interrupted only by the two portholes flush with the cabin, confirms the elegance of this boat. The cabin, considering that we are on a motorboat, amazes for size. The dinette below deck is convertible and allows two people to sleep comfortably, the kitchenette and the bathroom with shower make this motorboat also usable for short-range cruises. The 1017 GT can be powered by two 300 hp engines or, as in our case, with two 350 horsepower Mercurys. You glide. We push the handcuffs forward and Frauscher accelerates immediately. With this engine, the feeling is that of driving a missile. We enter the glide very quickly, less than 4 seconds. If the sea is rough, the hull does not slam on the wave, it cleaves softly. We bring the boat around 35 knots (3,500 rpm) and begin the evolutions, tight turns, decelerations and accelerations can not compromise the tightness of this hull. Let's try to push more, at 42/43 knots the "gentlemen racer" seems on the tracks, even turning decisively shows no sign of breaking down. We try the maximum speed, 53.3 knots, we get there in about 30 seconds, this boat accelerates and bends like a racing bike! Just to be clear: sailing at a speed of 35 knots, if we push the throttles decisively forward, the contrary thrust that we feel on our bodies is formidable, almost starting from minimum speeds.
